TaylorMade Stealth 2 Drivers: 4 Things You Didn’t Know

Must read

Perhaps you’ve heard of TaylorMade Stealth 2 drivers. They promise longer, more accurate, more forgiving drives.

But do you know why? Do you understand the technology that underpins these driver heads?

Let’s break it down. Here are 4 things you may not have heard yet, which are central to the performance of these drivers.

1. One of the keys to club head speed is low weight, and Stealth 2 drivers are lighter.
TaylorMade Stealth 2 drivers are considered CarbonWoods. From the same company that introduced the world to MetalWoods which now reign supreme in the sport, we have another groundbreaking technology: drivers made of carbon fiber.

As you know, carbon fiber can be engineered to be as strong as titanium or steel, even stronger, while remaining substantially lighter. It can also be engineered to offer superior flexibility and loading characteristics.

But the key here is weight. Notwithstanding the other highly-advanced technological attributes of these club heads, the TaylorMade Stealth 2 is lighter, which delivers overall lighter swing weights, in turn enabling higher swing speeds.

2. The club face features enhanced, Inverted Cone Technology for optimum forgiveness.
TaylorMade Stealth 2 drivers feature a 60x Carbon Twist Face, which consists of 60 layers of carbon fiber carefully layered on top of each other over a larger surface area.

This is an enhancement on TaylorMade’s Inverted Cone Technology which results in reduced weight and improved COR, or Coefficient of Restitution, making the face geometry more consistent and lighter over a larger surface area.

This feature not only continues to shave grams off the club head weight but results in a larger, more forgiving club face, even on off-center shots, for more forgiveness, for a wide range of swing profiles.

3. TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus drivers are customizable to each player’s swing and shot shape.
In the old days, you had to take or leave a driver head the way it was, and the TaylorMade Stealth 2 would be pretty good even if it was a one-size fits all club head that wasn’t customizable.

But it is customizable. The TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus driver, specifically, produces a neutral flight bias, but is nonetheless equipped with a 15g sliding weight track that can be precisely positioned to fine-tune shot shape and performance.

The TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus driver is also equipped with an FCT loft sleeve that can further optimize launch and trajectory for players of all different skill levels.

4. It’s even tuned for acoustics.
The TaylorMade Stealth 2 pushes engineering to the limits, encapsulating every aspect of the experience of the game of golf, down to the sound.

These drivers have been engineered, optimized, and extensively tested to deliver a premium sound.

This is no mere coincidence. TaylorMade’s developers have taken into account the carbon sole thickness of these clubs, and even combined unique curvature, shape, and internal stiffening ribs to create a club head that offers that clear, crisp, “ping” off the tee.
